Fancy Feast® Broths decided to choose my cat for this great sponsored post campaign. Princess Yasmine thanks you for allowing her to try this decadent treat!

When Yasmine was younger, she was taken away and abandoned far too soon. We found her on the streets, took her in and bottle fed her, and when she was old enough, we started her on some wet kitten food. She probably ate creamy food for the first couple months after the bottle, then we transitioned her to hard food. She’s now 12 years old and has become picky in her old age, as in, won’t eat wet cat food anymore. Only thing I can think of is she got sick of it when she was a kitten. Now, she just likes the juice, which is why I was exited to let her try the Fancy Feast® Broths!

:::Perk::: What!? Fancy Feast® makes broths?

I consider Yasmine my furbaby, I always want the very best for her, and I feel like we have found that with the new Fancy Feast® Broths.

  • The Broths are carefully crafted without any by-products or fillers. By-products are the parts of the animal that you don’t want your pet eating, like internal organs, blood and bones from dead, dying and diseased animals.
  • Real and recognizable ingredients are at the heart of every Fancy Feast® Broths recipe. Have you ever opened cat food and thought, what the heck is that? I know I have.
  • Each perfectly portioned, ready-to-pour pouch includes a variety of lickable tastes and textures and tender bites of high-quality real seafood cats are sure to love. I love this because of the real meat and for the no-mess clean up, for instance when you need a spoon to scrape the food out of a can of cat food and end up dripping it or spilling it onto the counter.
  • Fancy Feast® Broths also come in 8 varieties and feature either a Classic Silky or Creamy Broth with the main ingredient as meat with added vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, spinach, etc.

pardon our weedy yard..

She knew something good was in the Fancy Feast Broths pouch, and as soon as I put it in the bowl she started to sniff and gave it a lick. Although she didn’t eat it all right then and there, she did come back to it later and finished it off. She is the pickiest of cats so if mine will eat it, so will yours!

Do you have a picky cat at home?

Clark County Fair 2014

Every year I usually head to the fair, mostly just the first day because it’s FREE. Yep, you bet your frugal ass I’ll take advantage of that! You also get free pancake breakfast with some mini sausages and a drink on the first day if you get there before 11 am.

My mom wanted me to meet her out there around 8 am. Uhhh no way. I need all the beauty rest I can get, plus the free breakfast isn’t THAT great for me to get up THAT early. We made it there probably around 9:45 and I notice my mom at the end of the line, obviously she didn’t get there that early either. Should have known, everyone in my family is slow showing.

We get in line for food, eat our breakfast in the grandstands and head out to check out the animals and displays. Every year they seem to have something new going on, like this year, they had a sea lion show which was absolutely adorable. You can definitely tell they love all the human interaction they get. There was one that was cheesing it up for every photo they took. There was a high diving pirate show which reminded me of something you’d see in Vegas. A tad mediocre, but what can you expect…

There was a Toytopia which featured LEGO play areas. I am sad I didn’t go in there because they had a giant transformer in there. I could have taken a pic with Optimus Prime and make the hubs jealous. Maybe next year!

After we ventured around for a while, we decided to let my nieces ride on some kiddie rides since they were getting awfully antsy.

As you can see, they enjoyed themselves, even if it did cost a small fortune. lol

I Don’t Know if I Can Watch the #Bachelorette Again…

The only real reason why I started watching this bachelorette season (late, might I add) is that I had nothing better to do or watch on TV. I figured why the hell not… it’s a time killer and I love reality shows. Although this season makes me want to stop watching it altogether. I might watch this coming up Bachelor if Chris (the farmer) is starring, because he’s just a real genuine person.

I am not a believer in love at first sight or love after 10 weeks. I never once said I love you to my now husband until a year after we were dating. It’s not a word I take lightly and it’s something that I was scared and nervous to say and wanted to make sure it was real and right, not only for me, but for him.

When I watched the after show of the finale it made me realize just how fake and obnoxious of a person Andi Dorfman really is. She’s not sweet, innocent, down to earth, nothing. Her final words at the end of the finale when she chose Josh were “I Love You and I have loved you ever since the first time I laid eyes on you”. Gag me with a spoon. Then on the after show, Nick who she dumped had questions… the real kicker is she wouldn’t talk to him outside of the show and he publicly said if you didn’t love me at all then why did you make love to me? A complete and legit question. This is what made me despise her. If she knew she loved Josh from the very first moment he stepped out of the limo, then why did she take Nick back to the suite and have sex with him? Obviously she’s a damn ho bag who wanted to test the goods so to speak before she took the plunge into married ville. Maybe she needed another notch down on her belt? Maybe sleeping with Nick was the final deciding factor? Was he not good enough in bed? Was his package not big enough for her? Either way, she’s a phony and a ho, so I guess she works well with Josh.

Cruisin’ the Gut 2014 in Vancouver, WA

You can’t come to Vancouver, WA without hearing something about Cruisin’ the Gut from the locals. Basically for a past time, teenagers would cruise up and down main street in cool cars they wanted to show off. Well, 3 years ago, the city of Vancouver decided to make it a  yearly tradition that happens in the month of July, so if you’re in town, check it out! I’ve always heard stories from my grandma and mom about how they used to do it when they were young. Unfortunately it kind of died off after the 80s, but its alive and well now!

And since I’ve lived in Vancouver all of my life, I like to partake in such events. It’s a part of my city, which in turn makes it a part of me — no matter how silly that sounds. I was able to get a few pics of some of the cars, but I couldn’t stay all day for it sadly. We had to go to our nieces graduation party, but there’s always next year!

10 Frugal Wedding Decorations

If you haven’t already gathered by the numerous wedding invitations you have received; summer is wedding season. We have 2 to go to and one happening this weekend, so it seemed fitting that I do a post on frugal wedding decorations, you know, for the slackers who wait til the last minute to get their wedding decor figured out.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: Pom Poms

These are the easiest, cheapest things you could make to decorate your wedding, depending on what color you need, how many you plan on making, and what size. You can get a packet of tissue paper at the Dollar Store which is as cheap as you’re going to get it, but unfortunately, there are limited color options. But white always goes with everything and it gives it a classic and elegant look. Head on over to the Exclusively Weddings Blog for a step-by-step tutorial.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: Submerged Flowers in Vases

We all know flowers aren’t cheap. You could potentially use fake flowers at any craft store or dollar tree and get it looking pretty darn close to the real thing. Look for the 40% off coupon at JoAnn’s for maximum savings or purchase your flowers at a local grocery store; usually, they will clearance them down after they’ve been sitting a little while. Buy the clear vases, votives, and beads at the Dollar Tree. You’ll have yourself a pretty, yet inexpensive table setting. Add food coloring to the water in your choice of color if you want to skip the flowers.

These are another simple and cute idea that makes pretty inexpensive decor, especially if you already have construction or scrap paper lying around that will go with the theme. Broke-Ass Bride provides an easy step-by-step tutorial over on her blog, go check it out.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: DIY Cakestand

You probably wouldn’t guess you could make this for $2, would you? That’s right, only $2! You’ll probably pay around $20+ for this at any department store.  An Exercise in Frugality shows you how she created this by purchasing the 2 items at the dollar tree.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: DIY Photo Backdrop Stand

You’ve probably seen these at your friend’s/families wedding at one point or another and thought it was a good idea. Well, how about I tell you that you can make this PVC pipe photo backdrop for only $10. Use a white sheet you have at home or any other inexpensive fabric and wa-la, your very own photography stand to take goofy photos in front of. You could probably find a decent amount of props at the Dollar Tree or even at Target in the 1 dollar bins.  Go check it out over at Happiness is Homemade.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: Funny Comic Bubble Photo Props

These are on Etsy for $13.95 for a pack of 16 for the image files, which may or may not be worth it to you. But don’t worry, you can easily make these over at PicMonkey with your creativity, and print the images on 8×10 card stock paper or print them on regular paper and glue them onto thicker paper. After that is all done, attach some sticks or foam board to them.

Frugal Wedding Decorations: Wedding Favor: For Richer, For Poorer

How cute is this idea of having a card with a coin attached and a lottery ticket inserted? And it’s not too expensive depending upon however many guests you have.
