Week 36 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program #spon

In my recent order with Nutrisystem, I noticed they stuck a couple new dinner items in my fresh and frozen package, which is always a nice surprise since they pre-determine what you will receive. It was the Chef’s Table Fire Roasted Red Pepper and the Shrimp Alfredo. I of course tried these ones first, since it was a nice and refreshing change from the same things that I have been eating for nearly 10 months.

The Shrimp Alfredo contains broccoli, yellow and orange carrots, penne pasta in an Alfredo sauce, a Parmesan cheese blend and just a hint of sherry. I cooked this in the microwave since it’s in one of those plastic containers, which was probably a bad idea. I should have put it in the oven and done it that way just to see if the result would have been better. I love shrimp, but this shrimp was chewy and not tender at all. Shrimp is a delicate seafood, it needs to be cooked properly and at the right temperature or it can be ruined quickly! The sauce it was in, tasted very watery/runny and was not creamy or rich at all. Granted it’s not going to be as creamy as something you find in an Italian restaurant since we’re trying to avoid the fat content, but I like my sauces to taste good and this just didn’t cut it for me.

The Fire Roasted Red Pepper is a very creative idea that I should have done before I started this diet plan. This one contains shredded beef, rice, and goat cheese, which are all packed inside of the red bell pepper. However, once I cooked it and took it out of it’s package, it fell flat and looked like a pile of mush. Definitely doesn’t look appealing when you go to eat it, but this isn’t chopped or many of those other cooking shows where you get graded on how you style your plate with food. The taste was just okay for me. I really love bell peppers, so I can eat them religiously. I think if this had a unique sauce instead of the usual tomato based sauces Nutrisystem loves to use, and cooked with quinoa instead of long grain rice, I think it would be more appetizing to me.

Other than that, they were great.

Week 35 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program!

Since I went on a backpacking trip last Thursday morning – Saturday evening, I didn’t get a chance to weigh in on Friday. I like to weigh myself the same exact date and time to give myself a fair measurement for the week. So since I didn’t get to do that before I left, I have no idea how much I weighed while doing Nutrisystem for the week. I went out to dinner on Wednesday, so I have a feeling I went up slightly. When I got home from the backpacking trip on Saturday I was 195.5. The dehydrated meals have a lot of sodium in them to keep them preserved, so I obviously retained some water from the food, water, and walking.

I will talk more about my trip on next weeks post.

Week 34 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

Look what happens when you stay home or “in” for the week and stick to your Nutrisystem diet plan. I did eat a couple of dinners that I cooked for the boyfriend, only because I got tired of the leftovers going to waste in the fridge from sitting in there for so long. But I know my limits, so I didn’t see anything outrageous on the scale this week.

I partially blame Guild Wars 2 for keeping me in, since it’s a fresh, new game and for actually not having anything planned. That’s a first!! Last month we had crap to do every weekend it seemed like, but not this month, except for Uproar Tour in about 9 days.

Anyways, if I keep the future weeks like this week, I should reach my goal of 40lbs lost in no time and then I can move onto 50lbs and be at my ideal weight of 180. When I was around 170ish, I felt like I had no shape, or behind, or anything, so maybe 180 is perfect for my height and frame.

Week 33 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

I went to my first PAX this year as you already knew from my last post about it and I had a great time!! I was a little overwhelmed with everything there but that’s to be expected when it’s a crazy convention full of gaming folks such as myself. There were so many lines for EVERYTHING and I just wanted it to be quick. I compare it to Disneyland. You gotta wait to enjoy the 5 minute ride, or in this case the 15 minute video game preview and swag.

I didn’t do too well food wise since I felt like I was eating when I wasn’t even hungry, but knew that I had skipped out on meals and was basically just full on liquid so I ate anyways. I think I should order breakfast bars at least so that I can take them along with me when I go on vacations, that way I can stick to my Nutrisystem routine at least one meal out of the day.

I knew I’d gain weight, so I wasn’t expecting anything less. Le’sigh. One of these years I will hit 40lbs lost.
