I’ve always been interested in natural treatments since my early 20s. Back then, I had numerous complications that required antibiotics, then the antibiotics caused a side effect that needed another medication, and it was like a never-ending cycle of pharmaceuticals. That’s what made me start researching how to treat ailments naturally with homeopathic medicine. I knew they worked after they alleviated my complications, and that I would continue to use homeopathic medicine on myself and any future children I would come to have.
But what is homeopathic medicine?
Homeopathy is a system of health care that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. Homeopathy treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their own healing ability. A homeopath selects the most appropriate medicine based on the individual’s specific symptoms and personal level of health. Homeopathic remedies come as self-dissolving tablets, topicals such as creams and lotions, and single-use liquid doses. Now, after having 2 children and winging this thing called parenthood, I’ve come to learn that a more natural approach works best for our health and well-being as a family. We prefer homeopathic products like Boiron® when the children have colic, come down with a cold, or are teething, etc.
Who is Boiron?
Founded by twin pharmacists in 1932, Boiron® is the world leader in homeopathic medicines. Boiron prides themselves on using earth-sourced active ingredients to restore balance in the body to relieve symptoms.
Giving the kids any type of medicine that they know is medicine is always a struggle because they automatically assume it tastes “healthy” and “gross”. The great thing about Boiron products is that they’re pretty much flavorless. I know this because I tasted them myself. They are happy to take them because they assume it’s just water and they love water. Another thing they don’t like is a syringe being squirted in their mouth that has a syrupy consistency and an artificial taste. It always automatically comes back out. Boiron has easy to use single-dose options with their entire baby line that’s easy to squeeze as shown below.
I also love the single-dose options since they’re easy for on the go. You never know when you may need one since things can just appear randomly.
A couple weeks ago while we were visiting my sister over an hour away, Delilah came down with a 100-degree fever randomly, which we attributed to teething since she showed no other symptoms other than being a little moody. I had thankfully packed a package of Camilia® in my purse and ended up giving her a couple of doses throughout the day and she was feeling much better and fever ended up subsiding.
