We love playing with play-doh at our home. But, sometimes my daughter doesn’t want to put it up right away or gets sidetracked with something else and then it completely dries out and gets crumbly after we both forget about it and it sits out too long. Well, instead of tossing it and buying more every time, bring your child’s dried out play-doh back to life! Unfortunately, I don’t have a miracle hack for the poop brown colored play-doh that you see here that happens when your child blends all the colors together after you tell them a million times not to. But if you’re experiencing dry play-doh, try this simple hack.
You will need:
- ReynoldsKitchens Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap
- Thick paper towels
- Dried Play-Doh with the container
1.) Get the thick paper towel wet and wrap the play-doh inside. You don’t want the thin paper towels that tear easily, otherwise, it will stick to the play-doh and you’ll just have to toss some of it anyways.
2.) Then, cut off a piece of Reynolds KITCHENS™ Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap and wrap over the play-doh in the wet paper towel so that it traps the moisture.
I love this plastic wrap because it’s easy to tear off an even piece with it’s implemented Quick Cut™ slider. I don’t know how many times I had to throw away the plastic wrap that I tore up and clung together with the previous versions of plastic wrap with the metal teeth cutters. 3.) Stick back in the play-doh container and let sit overnight and then unwrap it all. Your play-doh should be moist and usable again. If your play-doh is super dry, you might need to repeat the process again.
